Vietnam lies on the eastern and southern parts of the Indochinese peninsula, shaped like an S. Traditionally, Vietnam is described as a bamboo pole with two rice buckets dangling on each end.
The South China Sea runs along all the coasts with warm temperatures, meaning that beaches have nice waters to play in. Vietnam is very tropical along with dense forests and mountainous or hilly land. In fact Vietnam has very little level land. |
For its rivers, there is a system of dikes (high banks of soil) and canals to prevent any flooding; however during monsoon season there is a great deal of flooding.
